We are well aware that it is not only university students who are interested in environmental issues and taking positive steps to help improve our planet. The Eco-Schools section of the Ibex Earth Website is geared to promote the fantastic environmental schemes and projects that are already available to schools across the UK. We aim to develop this section of the site to provide feedback from participating schools and help promote other environmental schemes and initiatives designed with school children in mind.
Eco-Schools The Government in England wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020. The scheme was launched in 2006 by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and looks to encourage schools to include issues such as sustainable development and sustainable practices into everyday school life. Now Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.
